HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS INVITED TO KAN JAM FOR KIDS TOURNAMENT
The first Kan Jam for Kids tournament is seeking area high school students to compete for prizes and a great cause - teams of two players are invited to sign up at www.kanjamforkids.com by March 28th. The tournament will begin at 10 a.m. at the Buffalo Bills Fieldhouse on Sunday, April 6.
Kan Jam - the slammin' jammin' disc' tossin' game -will start with a scramble format and continue into playoffs for the top 16 teams. Teams not participating in playoffs can compete to win a Verizon Wireless Bluetooth headset. Activities will be available at the Fieldhouse, including interactive booths and refreshments.
A live concert will be awarded to the top fundraising school as well as a day at Darien Lake to the top fundraising team and 50 of their closest friends! The winning team of the tournament will receive a trophy and a 4 gb ipod Nano to each member.

A $ 25 fee per student includes a free Kan Jam t-shirt and will help Essential Care for Children, the nationally recognized pediatric home care program of The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care. Essential Care provides medical care, psychosocial and spiritual support to children diagnosed with a serious illness and their families. A $ 2 donation at the door is requested for each tournament guest. Kan Jam for Kids is sponsored by Time Warner Cable, WBLK 93.7 FM, Verizon Wireless, and Darien Lake.
Essential Care for Children provides regular home visits to children and their families, helping to minimize hospital stays and emergency room visits. The program currently cares for 30 families facing serious illness each day in Erie and Niagara counties.
